New single from DJ Koze featuring Sophia Kennedy it’s coming. This is the inaugural single of the year 2023, christened ‘Wespennest‘, the German term for ‘wasps nest’). This tune prominently features the melodious tones of American-German artist Sophia Kennedy.

A fascinating blend of club and electronic music

The creation of this track took place during a tranquil retreat. It happened in a secluded Benedictine monastery located on Sulawesi Island in Indonesia. Its composition reflects this peaceful setting, with Kennedy’s silky vocal harmonies seamlessly interwoven with Koze’s production. The resulting sound is a fascinating blend of club and electronic music intertwined with psychedelic undertones.

Koze’s label, Pampa Records, is set to release a three-track EP sharing the same title on July 28. This release includes a B-side track named ‘Candidasa‘ and a modified version of the title track.

This latest release is his first solo endeavour since the 2018 album ‘Knock Knock‘. This record includes the globally acclaimed club hit ‘Pick Up‘. Cleverly sampled with Gladys Knight & The Pips’ emotive song. Just remember a couple parting ways, ‘Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)‘.

Eminently Danceable

In addition, Pampa Records also released a series of ‘Knock Knock‘ remixes last year. Anticipation is building for another album from DJ Koze, which is slated to drop in 2024.
