The track has previewed at several of Calvin’s live performances over this summer in Ibiza, and now it seems that the time is right to unleash it upon the world, as the hypnotic banger arrives this Friday (July 28). Sam posted a preview of the song on their socials, and it’s fair to say that Calvin is still exploring the eras of trance and hi-NRG dance music.

New Promises For A New Banger

“You take me higher,” Sam says on the thumping chorus, “take me away, you are my desire.” Of course, this is not the first time that Calvin and Sam have teamed up for a right, proper banger. 2018 single Promises was a Number 1 hit for both acts in the UK, and ranked as one of the Top 30 biggest tracks of that year (behind the Number 1 biggest song of 2018, Calvin and Dua Lipa’s equally banging One Kiss).

The Best yet To Come

According to Official Charts Company data, Promises has gained over 2 million UK chart units to date, including over 238 million streams.

Desire will be the second single Calvin has released this year – following Ellie Goulding collaboration Miracle, which hit Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart for eight non-consecutive weeks, and ranks as one of the Top 10 biggest songs of 2023 so far.
