ARCA and DJ Babatr join forces for a ground-breaking collaboration on ‘MK3TreF’

In a monumental union of talent, two electronic music luminaries from Venezuela, Arca and DJ Babatr join forces to create their latest single, ‘MK3TreF.’

The radio edit of this energetic track is already available for your listening pleasure on DJ Babatr’s Bandcamp, and fans can eagerly anticipate the release of the ‘Rapacious mix‘ scheduled for Friday, September 29.

A Raptor House Masterpiece

DJ Babatr, also known as Pedro Elias Corro, continues to shine brightly in 2023. His impressive year has witnessed his debut appearance on Boiler Room, the release of his inaugural vinyl EP, and a highly anticipated gig at the renowned Berghain, where he’ll share the stage with none other than Skrillex. His latest offering is a raptor house masterpiece, co-produced in collaboration with one of the most influential electronic artists of the 21st century.

Raptor house, as described by Corro, is a “tropical Latin reinterpretation of techno.” It emerged from Venezuela’s Changa Tuki movement, a web of interconnected electronic music subgenres, with raptor house evolving in the early 2000s.

Latin-Techno Genres Have Gained Global Recognition

In recent years, raptor house and its related Latin-techno genres have gained global recognition beyond South America. Notable DJs such as BADISTA, Bitter Babe, Nick León, and Corro himself have enjoyed substantial success. In fact, León and DJ Babatr joined forces last year to create the hit track ‘Xtasis‘ under the alias TraTraTrax, which was later remixed by Pearson Sound.

Accompanying this EP, the native of Caracas proudly stated, “This is the fusion of the raptor house sound with the decade’s most influential Venezuelan artist.

‘MK3TreF’ represents Arca’s latest release since her album ‘Яitual‘ dropped in April. Unlike her recent ‘non-binary pop’ endeavours as part of her ‘kiCK‘ series, this track leans more towards a club-focused sound.

For those eager to experience this ground-breaking collaboration, you can listen to and pre-order ‘MK3TreF’ right here.
